Baby grays and blues
Is it true that all babies' eyes start out gray or blue? The first photo is of our son Miles, whose eyes have remained a beautiful slate color, even at four months old. The second photo is from a one-year photo shoot of Charlotte, the daughter of our friends Charles and Elizabeth. Of Miles, I often wonder, what is he looking at? His eyes seem to study everything, especially patterns and contrast. As a newborn, he could be soothed by holding him up to look at our wedding photos--black frames hanging on a white wall. And mom and dad in the center.

What gorgeous eyes on both of them!
Wouldn't it be interesting if we could know what babies are thinking...although sometimes I'm sure we really don't want to know!
