I have to say there are so many online options for blogging and connecting with friends. I wouldn't call it a waste of time (yes I would), but I think the thrill factor diminishes after a point. My days in high school and college ended just before the MySpace and FaceBook crazes really took off. But for some reason, I have accounts at both sites. I rarely visit MySpace, and I believe FaceBook will become an inconvenience after I've "made friends" with every possible acquaintance in my locale, every co-worker and every classmate from high school and college...whether I really know them or not!
My blog, on the other hand, has been a good thing for me because I've always been a diary keeper, albeit not a consistent one. I love posting photographs and writings that mean something to me, and while it would be cool to know that others read the blog and take interest in the photographs, it's an outlet for me either way. It goes the other way, too. There is something about reading the musings of other thoughtful bloggers that really intrigues me. Perhaps my latest interest is visiting photo blogs, much like the one I try to maintain. Perhaps the best one I've come across so far is called Shutter Sisters, a unique blog in that its contributions come from multiple writer-photographers.
Have a great day, readers.

I agree that a blog is a great thing for the writer and for the reader. My blog is my creative outlet, one of the few that I have right now. I sure enjoy reading yours - AND the shuttersisters rocks! :)
